Joseph K. Newcomer, MD
Dr. Newcomer received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Chemistry from Augustana College in 1989 and graduated from the University of Texas Medical School in 1993. He completed his orthopedic residency at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Centre in Albuquerque. He is board certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
Dr. Newcomer has been practicing in the Bloomington-Normal area since 1998. He is currently the team physician and medical director for the Bloomington Thunder Professional Hockey team, a team physician for the Cornbelters Baseball team, and an Adjunct Faculty member at Illinois State University. He has co-authored publications in the Journals of Arthroplasty and Arthroscopy.
Dr Newcomer is co-founder and owner of Method Sports Performance Center utilizing their own
proprietary metabolic fingerprint testing for individualized exercise programming.
Dr. Newcomer joined McLean County Orthopedics in 2013. He currently sees patients at @ 1111 Trinity Lane in Bloomington Illinois.
